Outdoor Education Project

My placement experience in the infant room has been truly rewarding and enjoyable. I have had the opportunity to plan and implement a variety of learning experiences, including movement, literacy, math, and creativity activities. Each activity has helped me understand how infants learn through exploration, sensory play, and gentle guidance. I feel proud of the meaningful interactions I have built with the children and the confidence I am gaining as an educator. Overall, this placement has strengthened my passion for working with infants and helped me grow both personally and professionally.

During my infant placement, I implemented a learning experience designed to support early development through responsive, play-based interactions. Throughout this experience, I focused on building meaningful relationships with the infants by observing their cues, offering gentle guidance, and creating opportunities for exploration. Although infants are non-verbal, I learned how much they communicate through body language, eye contact, gestures, and emotional expressions. By slowing down, watching closely, and responding intentionally, I was able to form stronger connections with each child.

One of the most valuable parts of this experience was understanding my role as an educator in supporting self-help, curiosity, and early problem-solving skills. I adapted to the environment to encourage safe exploration and ensured that each child was able to participate at their own developmental level. I also practiced communicating professionally with my mentor and other staff members, asking questions, accepting feedback, and reflecting on my interactions. This helped me grow in confidence and become more aware of how to present myself in a childcare setting. I did lot of activities with them Literacy, Movement, Math, and creativity.

Overall, this artifact demonstrates my progress in building responsive relationships, supporting infant development, and improving professional communication. It reflects the skills I am continuing to develop as I work toward becoming a thoughtful, caring, and reflective Early Childhood Educator.
